They use slogans like, "Love is love." What would you say to a person who thinks that he or she was born with this inclination, and that there was nothing they could do about it? Children are watching this everywhere. If someone took his son for therapy and his son is under 18, when he comes back home, he will go to jail. One of the biggest psychologists in America wrote a book called "Faith of the Fatherless." Why and how did the rainbow become a symbol of this movement? This group that we're talking about have been saying "Live and let live." But now they lobbied and banned the therapy in over 30 countries. There are some information leaking now about the pharmaceutical lobby.

We're speaking about billions of dollars, if not trillions of dollars worldwide. So we are asking them now why don't you now live and let live? Assalamualaikum Sheikh Fadel Soliman. Thank you for accepting our invitation. We know that you're a founder and director of the Bridges Foundation, and you've been involved in answering the questions or clearing the misconceptions in the minds of young people. One of these topics is about same-sex attraction and LGBTQ issues. We're going to ask some questions about this today. They use slogans like, "Love is love." They say, why do you interfere in the lives of two people? What is your answer to this?

They want to say that who can control his heart, as if the heart should not be under control by one's mind? Forget about homosexuality now. Imagine that a man started to have feelings towards the wife of his neighbor. Should he not control his heart? Should he say that "Love is love" and then wait until his neighbor goes to work, and then goes and knocks her door and expresses his feelings towards her? And then cheating happens and fornication happens and adultery happens. Shouldn't the hearts be controlled by the mind? No, definitely. The heart must be under control. Definitely the heart must be under control. Besides that, love is a type of worship in Islam.

Who said that we do not love each other in Islam? Men love men and women love women, but not in a sexual context. So yes, love is love, but also lust is lust. When it comes to sexual pleasure, here, lust is involved. And actually Islam encourages Muslims to enjoy the sexual pleasure but within the frame of marriage, not in a frame that is against Allah's will. What would you say to a person who thinks that he or she was born with this inclination, and that there was nothing they could do about it? Actually, there is no sexuality when people are just new born. So we need to know that what causes homosexuality? There are different causes and different manifestations for it.

In men, it's a manifestation of something called the attachment disorder. And mainly it's a traumatic event or events in childhood. The most common one is what we call "The Missing Father Syndrome." That the father is missing in the life of his children. Boys are born, no sexuality at all, and then they grow up as boys. They start having a good relationship with each other, making friendship in the age of six and seven, and then they start having also relationship with their fathers. If the boy reaches puberty, having satisfaction with his own sex, good relationship with boys and with the father and with everyone like that.

When he reaches puberty, he starts looking at relationships with the other sex. But if he reaches puberty, without being satisfied with the attachment to his own sex, here he is in danger. But in case of girls, it's different. But also the father is important. When the girl sees her mother all the time crying because she hates marriage, she hates being married to that man. And then she starts hearing that also Uncle So is bad, Uncle So is bad. Our neighbor did this to his wife. She will hate having relationship with men and she will be more inclined towards girls. Especially if the mother tells the bad side of the father. This is damaging the relationship.

And this can cause, by the way, two things. Not just same-sex attraction, it can also cause atheism. One of the biggest psychologists in America, Doctor Paul Vitz, wrote a book called "Faith of the Fatherless" in which he spoke about those who started atheism. Friedrich Nietzsche, Karl Marx, Thomas Hobbes. All of them had problems with their fathers or a missing father. Like, for example, Friedrich Nietzsche lost his father in the age of four. He is the one who announced the famous announcement "God died." Paul Davis says he wasn't really announcing "God died," he was announcing the death of his own father.

And though he is one of the very staunch atheists, he is the one who came up with the idea of the Übermensch. Übermensch in German means the superman, the man who can fly and can push mountains and go through buildings. This is against atheism because anything that is supernatural is against atheism. But what happened is he lost his father in the age of four, when every father is a superman in the eyes of his child. Dad leaves the house and comes back at night with money. He thinks his father is a superman. He doesn't know how dad earned this money. And the more the child grows up, the more his father becomes normal. But he lost his father at the age when he was a superman for him.

The issue is this is not necessarily what will happen. Because actually, if you look at the prophets, most of them lost their fathers or didn't have fathers. For example, Prophet Muhammad (saw) was an orphan. Jesus, son of Mary, doesn't have a father at all. Or they had the bad fathers like the father of Abraham. So not necessarily that if someone loses his father or had a corrupt father, that he will be falling in one of these issues. Because I don't want people to watch this video and then start doubting themselves. No. Not necessarily. There must be a male figure who appears in the life of the children here, a grandfather, an uncle.

By the way, I remember that a sister came to me lately and told me "My husband died and I have four children, and I decided not to get married for my children." I said, "No sister, get married for your children, but choose a husband who can be a substitute father like Prophet Muhammad (saw)." Prophet Muhammad (saw) was the substitute father of thirteen children, and those are the children of his wives. That's why we keep telling people, when you read the Sirah of the Prophet (saw), read it with pondering and with contemplation. So when the Prophet (saw) was putting al-Hasan and Husayn on his back and he's asking them, "What a beautiful camel you have," he wasn't wasting his time.

He was teaching us what quality time means. It's a time when you are not a parent. You're not teaching or blaming or telling them what to do. It's, you're child like them, speaking in their discourse. When he said, "What a beautiful camel you have," that's not a discourse of a prophet, not even a discourse of an adult, but of a three year old. So the whole thing is, people used to have to spend time with their children at home. Yeah, I know that people work and the father has to make ends meet and he has to make money, but when he comes back home, he needs to stop sitting on his mobile phone, sending messages that are meaningless instead of sitting with them and playing with them.

Even pillow fight, anything, but be a child like them. If your children love to sit with you more than they love to sit with their friends, you succeeded. These are the causes of homosexuality, you've said. Maybe just to add more a little bit, like, surrounding by many women in the house, for example, aunts, mothers, grandmothers, and for men or for women also maybe. Calling boys feminine names and calling girls masculine names and encouraging that in them. Some families also sometimes dress their male boys. They dress them in the female dresses, and think that this is good. This is not good. By the way, these things happen to many people, but it does not cause SSA.

It doesn't cause it, but it can help if there's another big cause. So big causes are, as I said, Missing Father Syndrome. He doesn't interact. He doesn't hug them. Hugging children is very important. Kissing children is very important. All of this is in the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (saw). There is also a perception that the LGBTQ community deserves special treatment because they have always been oppressed and persecuted in many countries. There is also a perception that the LGBTQ community deserves special treatment because they have always been oppressed and persecuted in many countries. Is that really the case?

This group that we're talking about have been saying "Live and let live." But now they lobbied and banned the therapy in over 30 countries, and in most of them, it is criminalized. If someone took his son for therapy and his son is under 18, when he comes back home, he will go to jail. Why? Because okay, he's under 18. That's not fair for that. People with unwanted same-sex attraction cannot find the coaching that they need to live a heterosexual life, even if they want it, even if they are adults. No one can do that anymore. They say it's harmful. We're banning it, even against people's will.

They made a study, the survey, to use it in order to ban the same-sex attraction therapy, to prove that it makes people su*c*dal. They brought a specimen of people whom the therapy has failed with them, and they asked them, did you feel su*c*dal after the therapy? But they did not ask them, did you feel su*c*dal before the therapy? Because this could have shown that maybe more or the same number had also su*c*dal feelings before the therapy. So the issue is these surveys are controlled. The questions in them are designed in a way that serves a certain agenda. So we are asking them now, why don't you now live and let live?

For example, in America I know therapists there whom the rate of success is 46% in their practices. I know people in the Arab world actually, or in the Muslim world, whom the rate of success is much, much higher than this because the Muslim really, really wants to get rid of this. So he has more incentives and something more pushing him to get rid of that. So the issue here is, who said that if a therapy doesn't work with some people, that you can ban it? Well, cancer therapy doesn't work with everyone. Who dares to ban cancer therapy?

So one of the things that people need to know about the therapy is that what to expect from the therapy, because some people think that if I go through the therapy, I'll be okay, definitely. No, no. Not definitely. What does it mean that it worked? He can fulfill his dreams. He can get married. Who said that people with opposite-sex attraction don't get attracted all the time? Well, and a person with opposite-sex attraction is married and he sees attractive women. What does he do? He lowers his gaze. He decides to live a chaste life, not a life of womanizing. Same thing. Then, this is considered also a success.

So when we say that there are people who need this, they should be allowed to find it. And I believe that they are like that, oppressing 95% of the same-sex attracted community who want the therapy, but they can't find it anymore. When we see their influence, as you say, we cannot really make sense of it. They say that "We are a minority," but they have this much power. Is there something else going behind the scenes? Definitely there is something going behind the scenes. What is it exactly? There are speculations. And there are some information leaking now about the pharmaceutical lobby.

If you think about it, if someone wants to change his or her sex through transgenderism, he will need an operation. He will need hormones and pills to take for the rest of his life. Just the operation costs about $70,000 per person. So to suddenly find that it appears in the cartoon, it appears on films. Children are watching this everywhere and in the sexual education in their schools and even in nurseries. Some people reached out to them and told them that "You're not necessarily a boy, You will grow up and choose." "And you're not necessarily a girl.

You will grow up and choose." This will increase the number of confused people, which is actually the number of prospect customers of these companies. If only one child, one child per class decides to transfer his sex and become a transgender that's a $70,000 from this class. From ten classes in this grade, it's $700,000. From all the grades we're speaking about 7 million or more. And that's from only one school. And what about the rest of the schools in the area? This makes it 70 million. The rest of the schools in the city, this makes 700 million. We're speaking about billions of dollars, if not trillions of dollars worldwide. This is the coming business.

At the same time you ban parental discussions at home. So in some countries, the parents are afraid to talk in front of their children and say that homosexual practices is haram in Islam, because if the children go and say that in the school, they may not come back from the school and the police may come to take the rest of the siblings. So you are preventing parental discussions. Even clergy, You find that sheikhs and imams and priests in the church are not even now allowed to speak about that. Otherwise they will lose their status and they will be sent home. And who's benefiting from this? Pharmaceutical companies.

And our children need to know that because like that we will be increasing in them the critical thinking to know why is the school doing this to them. So the children will watch that and will be careful. Next time when they hear this in school, they will not give them a full ear. And we don't want them to give a full ear. I have the curriculum of third grade in Scotland and actually shocking to see that they are telling third graders that sex can be between a man and a man or a woman and a woman. And thank God they did not forget to tell the kids that it can also be between men and women. So it's like the abnormality is presented first as if this is the norm.

Last time I was in a bank, I saw like everywhere, even on the ATM machine, the rainbow. And it says "We support LGBT" and stuff. So I called the teller and asked him, "Well, if I tell you that I'm from this movement, so how do you support me?" He said, "Eh," just shaking his shoulders. "No, you tell me, please. I want you to say, I want to see how will I get support? Will you give me a better rate or something on my savings?" He said no. How do you support them? Why are you involving yourself in what your customers are doing in their bedrooms? So this is really strange, but thank God until today, the therapy is not banned in the UK.

Why and how did the rainbow become a symbol of this movement? This is a very, very important point. Because as I said, they are clever and they are professionals, and they chose the most beautiful natural combination of colors to be their slogan. Problem is in us, who gave up that slogan quickly. It's like we're donating it to them and that's not good. And it's going to backfire on us with the issue of atheism. Because when you tell your son who wants to buy a tshirt that has the rainbow or a lunchbox that has the rainbow, and you tell him "No, haram," what is the message that you pass to him? You pass to him indirectly that God hates beauty.

This will create a complex in the heart of the child against God or against religion. So this is very dangerous and the rainbow must be regained as soon as possible. There are also people who regret and give up this lifestyle. What are they going through that makes them feel this regret? Well, many people find that when they go through these things that are actually haram, thinking that it will cause pleasure for them, it doesn't really cause them pleasure. When you see people drinking and clubbing and dancing in clubs and stuff like that, it doesn't mean that they are happy by the way. Yes, at the moment when you see them, they are laughing.

But after they become sober, the depression comes back multiplied by 20. Same thing. Those people who are going to do some sexual behavior that is un-Islamic, whether homosexuality or not, they do so thinking that it's going to help them, it's going to, but it doesn't. There are also people who have such feelings but do not want to act on them. They are afraid that even having these feelings is haram and makes them sinful. Well, that's a very important thing to understand that Allah does not judge people according to what crosses their mind or the feelings. Allah judges people according to the actions.

And the Prophet (saw) has a Hadith that "Allah has forgiven my Ummah for what crosses their mind, until they speak about it and spread it or it comes into action. So if someone is having same-sex attraction, he needs to know that this is his test in life. Ask Allah help to succeed and to pass your test in life. And there is support groups. So people have to understand that same-sex attraction, and opposite-sex attraction, which is the norm, both of them are tests and both of them can lead people either to Paradise or to hellfire. Opposite-sex attraction, which is the norm, if it is acted upon outside the frame of marriage by fornicating and committing adultery, this can lead one to hellfire.

So people have to know that this is not the end of the world. They should know that they are not the only people who have this. No, there are others who are helping each other to get over it. I personally know, like, two of my friends sought therapy when they were students studying in university. Today both of them are, Mashallah, grandfathers and they are helping others. By the way, one of them is called “Straight Struggle”. People can search them on the internet and can find them. “Straight Struggle” is a community of Muslims actually and there is also “Strong Support”, also a community of Muslims who are helping each other to get out of this.

Sheikh Fadel Soliman, thank you so much for your answers and being with us. May Allah reward you. I want to thank you so much. And this is a very sensitive topic, of course, and we did not mean to offend anyone at all. I understand that people who are having same-sex attraction, and for them it is unwanted, that they will understand our point of view. And even those who for them it is wanted and they don't have a problem with it, they should also know that we are free to choose the way of life for ourselves and for our children, and they should not interfere in this.
