We're starting a brand new series brought to life with artificial intelligence. The Day of Judgment. Life in the grave. Get me out of here! Man rabbuka? (Who is your Lord?) Who is your Lord? Get me out of here! The end of the world, the Day of Judgment, and Paradise and Hell. Step-by-step, we will explore life after death as if we are living those moments. What will happen in the final seconds before death? What will we face inside the grave? What will we go through on the day the world ends, or when we are resurrected and gathered in the great assembly? What is waiting for humanity in Paradise and Hell?

All the answers to your questions about the eternal journey after death are in this series. Now, if you're ready, let's begin. The moment of death. The day you've been running from your whole life is finally here. You wake up to the very day you never even wanted to think about. And now, the Angel of Death is coming for you. It's pitch dark. The time is just before dawn. That pain in your chest, it's crushing you. Your body can't move. Your mind is in chaos. Your childhood, your teenage years, and who you are right now, in a split second, they all flash before your eyes. You're gasping for air. Your lips are dry. Your throat feels like something is stuck in it.

"What is happening to me?" You're confused, you're scared. You cannot make sense of what's going on. Suddenly, your loved ones gather around you. One of them is holding your hand tight, others are reciting duas (supplications) with tears in their eyes. Someone is trying to give you water, their hands shaking. There's a helpless sadness on their faces and a silent farewell in their eyes. You, on the other hand, feel like time is slowing down. The voices are fading away. It's like the world is quietly letting you go. As the ayah (verse) says, "Every soul will taste death. Then to Us you will all be returned." Your mind is going blurry. Your movements are getting slower.

The breath that is stuck in your throat is paralyzing your whole body. In that moment, the only thought that fills your mind, your only worry is: What will happen after I die? And now, Shaytan's (Satan's) final attacks are about to begin. This is the moment known as sakaratul maut - the agonies of death. Will you be able to hold on to your faith? Will you manage to save your iman (faith)? Or will you be among those who lose it in their very last breath? Your muscles are losing their strength. Your hands, your arms, and feet are getting colder. The color of your skin is fading, turning pale. And at that moment, Shaytan (Satan) comes to you.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to make the following dua: "Ya Allah, I seek refuge with You from being led astray by the Shaytan at the time of death." At that moment, Shaytan's biggest desire is to make sure you enter your grave without iman (faith). That's why he saves his final trick for the very end. Maybe he'll try to push you towards another religion, or maybe he will try to make you say something rebellious against Allah. He whispers... "They've been praying for you to get better for so long, but just look at you, you're only getting worse. Where is Allah now? Do you really think He hears you?" Many people have been through this moment before, each in their own way.

And now, it is your turn. Just think about it, even the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Allah to protect him from this. Doesn't that say enough? Actually, the stronger your iman (faith) is, the stronger you will respond in the moment of death. They say, "You die as you live." Whatever we fill our souls with throughout our lives, that's what our tongues will speak when death comes to us. "Oh no, I was deceived by worldly life." Someone who filled his soul with worldly desires will only utter them at the time of death. "My money, my property, my fame." But a believer who lived his life with the love of Allah in his heart will remember and mention His Lord.

Ya Rabb (Oh Lord), Ya Latif (Oh Most Kind), Ya Rahman (Oh Most Merciful), Ya Allah. You might be thinking, "But I already have iman (faith)." However, what you need is an iman that is deeply rooted in your heart and fully affirmed by your mind. Think of it like this: I have an apple in my hand, and there's a thief trying to take it from me no matter what. If I'm only holding it in my hand, even if I try to protect it as much as I can, he can easily snatch it away. But if I eat it, and it's digested inside me, it becomes impossible for the thief to take it from me.

So, if you don't just hold the truths of iman in your hand, but let them sink into your heart, mind, and soul, then with Allah's permission, Shaytan won't be able to harm you in any way at the moment of death. But if you claim to believe in the afterlife, yet you still live like it doesn't exist; if your words say one thing, but your actions say another, then perhaps it's time to question yourself now. This is about winning or losing eternity, and you are still not taking it seriously. So what else will happen at the time of death?

The ayah (verse) says, "Surely, for those who have said, ‘Our Lord is Allah, ’ and then remained steadfast, the angels will descend upon them, saying: ‘Do not fear and do not grieve. Rather, rejoice in the good news of Paradise, which you have been promised.’” The angels come to a righteous believer with bright, beautiful faces, dressed in pure white and carrying a pleasant fragrance. But for someone who lived without iman, this is a moment filled with pain. Now, they are face to face with what they used to deny. No! No! Please, don't come near me! Stay away! I believe! I believe Allah is real! Please! Just give me one more chance! Where are my friends? Where are my buddies?

Is there no one to save me? But for that person, the real fear is only beginning. Now, let's talk about what happens after death. Death isn't the end. It's not nonexistence. It's simply a transition from one state to another. It's like leaving one home and entering another. It's the beginning of a different realm. Allah, the One who causes the Earth to die every winter and brings it back to life every summer, also causes all humans to die so that He can raise them again on the Day of Judgment. And the place we will all stay before the afterlife is called the realm of Barzakh - the intermediate world.

Our Prophet (peace and be upon him) said, "The grave is either a garden from the gardens of Paradise or a pit from the pits of the Fire." Yes, you now have died. Your lifeless body has been brought into the ghusl (ritual washing) room. It's lying there on the cold marble, waiting to be washed. Your shroud, your coffin, everything is ready. Outside the door, your family is waiting. Your mother, your father, your siblings, your spouse, and your children, their eyes are swollen from crying, and they can barely speak. Soon, they will lift your coffin onto their shoulders and carry you to the mosque courtyard. "It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our neighbor, Ahmed Mityat.

His funeral will be held today, following the dhuhr (noon) prayer, at our local mosque. This announcement is extended to all his relatives, friends, and neighbors. May Allah have mercy on him." The call to the funeral prayer you have heard your entire life is now being recited for you. Those who hear the news get shocked and say, "He's gone?" They stay silent for a moment, but then go back to their lives. People have gathered and lined up to pray your janazah (funeral prayer). My son! And then, your coffin is lifted again. This time towards your grave. It has already been dug. It's open. This is your new home, and it's waiting for you.

One of your loved ones steps down into the grave and gently lays your body on your right side, with your face turned towards the qibla (direction of prayer). Then he comes out of it and begins placing the wooden planks over your grave. And with his own hands, he throws the first soil onto you. The soul sees all these moments directly. It sees everything. It watches as the body is being washed, as the janazah (funeral prayer) is performed, and as the coffin is being carried to the grave. It hears the voices of the people who came, what they said, all of it. And as the people begin to leave the graveyard, the soul even hears the sound of their footsteps.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The dead person is followed to his grave by three things: his family, his wealth, and his deeds. His family and his wealth go back from the grave, and his deeds remain with him." If the person is righteous, he doesn't want the burial to take long. He is eager to reach the blessings of life in the grave as soon as possible. But if the person is wicked, he wants the burial to take longer. The friendships that walked with you up to your grave are now over. You are alone. And now, the realm of Barzakh (the intermediate realm) begins. The realm of Barzakh is a separate world, a barrier between this life and the hereafter.

It begins with death and ends with resurrection. It's like the waiting room of the afterlife. Whether a person drowns in the sea and disappears or is burned and their ashes are scattered, the soul stays unharmed, exactly as it was. There's no hiding from Allah's knowledge. Everyone will be treated exactly as they deserve. This phase is explained in detail in a hadith (saying of the Prophet) of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "When a believer is about to leave the world and go forward to the next world, angels with faces white as the sun come down to him from heaven with one of the shrouds of Paradise and some of the perfume of Paradise, and sit away from him as far as the eye can see.

Then the Angel of Death comes and sits at his head and says, 'Oh you good soul, come out to the forgiveness and pleasure of your Lord.' Then the soul comes out easily, and He sees it. And when He does, the other angels immediately take the soul from the Angel of Death, not leaving it in His hand even for the blink of an eye. Then they place it in that shroud and that perfume. And from it there comes forth a fragrance like that of the sweetest musk found on the face of the Earth. They then raise it up to the sky. Every group of angels they pass by asks, 'Who is this good soul?' The angels who are raising the soul respond by calling him with the best names he used to be called in this life.

When they reach the skies, all the gates are opened for them. As they pass through each level up to the seventh heaven, the angels greet the soul. Then Allah says, 'Record the book of My servant in Illiyun - the register of the righteous, and take him back to Earth. For I created mankind from it, I shall return them into it, and from it I shall bring them forth another time.' Then he is returned to his grave, to the realm of Barzakh, and there, two angels named Munkar and Nakir come for questioning." Man rabbuka? Who is your Lord? My Lord is Allah, the One I worshipped during my life. What is your religion? My religion is Islam. Who is this man who was sent among you?

He is the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, peace be upon him. This is how a true believer responds to all these questions and gives the correct answers. All the prayers that a believer performed in his life and all the good deeds that he did come to join him in the grave. When Munkar and Nakir arrive to question him, a being made of light comes and sits by his head. This is the prayers he used to perform during his lifetime. Then his other good deeds appear one by one. His fasting stands on his right, his zakat (obligatory charity) on his left, and all his other righteous deeds gather at his feet.

Each of them stands in its place to protect him, blocking the grave from crushing his bones, hurting him, or causing him any distress. After the questioning, when the believer answers correctly, a window to Paradise is opened for him. Then Allah commands that his grave be expanded as far as the eye can see, and that a bed from the beds of Jannah (paradise) be prepared for him. Then, on the side of his grave, a window opens, and he is shown the scenes of Paradise, the eternal home of all the believers. His heart fills with peace, and he watches Paradise until the Day of Judgment.

But there's also the other side, the painful one that awaits those who die without iman (faith) and those whose lives were full of major sins. Get me out of here! Man rabbuka? (Who is your Lord?) Who is your Lord? Get me out of here! What is your religion? Who is this man who was sent among you? In the grave, it's not the mind that gives the answers; it's the heart. The person responds according to his status in the sight of Allah. If he was someone who denied Allah's religion and His Messenger, he won't be able to answer those questions. Even if he was a Muslim, if he lived a life full of sins, his tongue may not work when he tries to answer.

For some, this becomes a friendly conversation with the angels, but for others, it turns into a painful interrogation. The gates of Hell are opened, and the punishment inside is shown to him. And he begins to suffer the torment of the grave. The burning heat and the smell of Hell reach him. His grave becomes tight and starts crushing him. Then a man with a dark face and filthy clothes appears in front of the wicked soul and says, "This is the day you were promised." The soul asks in fear, "Who are you?" "I am your evil deeds: the interest you took, the backbiting you did, the haram (forbidden) things you looked at. Why are you afraid? Haven't I been what you desired for all these years?

Well, here I am, standing right in front of you." Upon this he prays, "My Lord, do not let the hour come!" Zayd ibn Thabit said, "We went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to a garden that belonged to Banu Najjar. He was riding his animal. Suddenly, the animal got frightened and almost threw him off. We looked and saw that there were a few graves nearby. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The people buried here are going through suffering in the grave.

If I wasn't afraid that you would stop burying your dead, I would ask Allah to let you hear the punishment of the grave just as I hear it.' Then he turned his face towards us and said, 'Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave.'" Here it is... Your new home. Up there, everything was bright and full of color, but here, it is pitch black. Everything came to an end so quickly, didn't it? Either you will say, "Oh Allah, please give me one more chance, I promise I'll fix myself," as if Allah hadn't already given you so many chances every single day of your life.

Or you will say, "Oh Lord, all praise and thanks be to You," because you didn't live a life that would cause you trouble in the hereafter. You stayed away from haram (forbidden things), and you fulfilled your obligations. Your time of duty in this world has come to an end.
