Everything is over. You decided to end your life. You don't want to live anymore because life gives you pain. Your mind keeps bothering you and you feel miserable. You say, "I'm not happy, so why should I live?" You climb up to a high place to end your life. You let yourself fall and hit the ground. Experiencing the worst pain imaginable. Ambulance sirens wail around. People are coming, running, screaming and shouting, "He threw himself down," they're shouting. Suddenly your mother comes to the balcony and looks around. and looks around. Where are you? She looks down, sees your lifeless body and runs down the stairs, crying. "Not my child. Please don't let it be my child.

Don't let him be dead." You have caused her the greatest pain she could ever feel in her life. A pain that she will relive every day until the end of her life. We are going to talk about su*cide. Why does someone commit su*cide? Problems sometimes come one after another, right? We have all been through hardships, right? But there are also calamities in this world severe enough to drive a person to commit su*cide. It's like a war starts in your head. Certain things constantly revolve in your mind. Intense thoughts come to you. You feel confused and you feel helpless. So you are fighting a war within yourself. Even the activities you once enjoyed now feel meaningless.

Your mental health is ruined and your sleep schedule falls apart. You don't enjoy anything you eat or drink. You know what the worst thing is? No one understands you. You don't even believe that there's someone who can solve your problem. You watch TV shows to get over your boredom. You do things that will make you forget your pain. But nothing helps. Because your mind comes with you wherever you go and eats at you from the inside. When you cannot use your mind properly and control it, it can lead you to disaster. I've done some research on this subject, from scientific, psychological and Islamic views. There are really original and striking findings.

For example, For example, did you know that every 40 seconds someone commits su*cide in this world? I mean, since this video started, 2 or 3 people have already committed su*cide. That person who committed su*cide was once someone who had a positive perspective on life, who thought positively, who seemed to have no problems, full of joys. But the calamities they faced brought them to a very different point, and they thought they couldn't stand it anymore. Actually, su*cide is not a solution. It's an escape because there's always a way out. And there's even a quote from a thinker.

He says, "If you believe in Allah, your chances of solving your problem are infinite." Allah has infinite power, right? So what could be difficult for Him? Also, there is a verse in the Qur'an. Allah says, "Allah does not require of any soul more than what it can afford." Then, why do people commit su*cide? One of the greatest Islamic scholars, Bediuzzaman Said Nursi, offers a profound observation about patience. He says. "If a person does not distribute his strength of patience to the past and to the future, but concentrates it on the present, he can bear every calamity." Yes, that person can bear every calamity, including all the problems that drive people to su*cide.

But you think too much about what happened in the past and complain, saying, "Why did this happen this way?" You're using some of your patience for the past, and at the same time you're distributing it to the future, thinking, "What will happen in the future? How will things get better?" You have spread your power of patience to the past and to the future. The center, which is the present time, has become powerless. Then Shaitan, the Devil, notices the emptiness and immediately attacks you. He exhausts your patience and you say, "Enough is enough. I can't stand it. I don't want to live." This is because you spread out your patience to the past and to the future.

That's when the devil attacks a person who is getting closer to committing su*cide. All of a sudden he attacks your mind. Negative thoughts run through your head. When you look through black glasses, you see the environment in black, right? So the devil puts black glasses on you. Everything seems negative and impossible to deal with. He attacks you from left and right. And you want to silence these thoughts, but you can't. This is exactly why people commit su*cide, to relieve the pain in the mind and heart. So, would they want to end their lives if that pain were gone? Of course not. We have outlined the reasons that lead to su*cide. Financial issues. Getting into trouble. Family problems.

Psychological disorders. Depression. Loneliness. Breakups. One sided love. These can lead people to su*cide. On top of this, 90% of su*cides are due to psychological reasons, and 50% of people who commit su*cide are addicted to alcohol or dr*gs. Very interesting, right? There's something that people always forget. You are only entrusted with this body. Take a look at yourself. Where did your eyes come from? Which market could you have bought them from? You don't own anything. Do you realize that? Then, does such a person have the right to say, "Why does it have to be this way?" Think of it this way. You bought a house and decorated it as you wanted.

Then, your guest comes and starts to criticize. "Why are your walls this color? This sofa set doesn't go well with this color. I would change the color immediately." What would your reaction be if they said this? You would say, "Well, you're not the owner of this property. You don't get to decide." Wouldn't you? Now let's take a look at ourselves. What do we own? Nothing. And the owner is free to do whatever He wants in His property. He tests us to improve ourselves. For example, when the exam starts and the papers are handed out, the teacher can sometimes turn into someone really serious, right? Especially if you don't follow the rules.

When you look at the paper, you see the test questions. There are both right and wrong choices. You can't just say, "Why are these wrong choices, like B, C, D, why do we have these? These are wrong." It's a test. Similarly, negative things will happen in this world. You will face problems. There will be moments that will make you say, "Why did this happen to me?" But don't worry. In the Hereafter, everything will be balanced with justice. Don't say, "Why can't my eyes see? Why can't my ears hear?" In the Hereafter. everything will come into balance. For example, think of a person who was born blind. He came into the world, lived. Then death took him and he left. He couldn't see anything.

But when the deprivation he experienced in this world is given to him as a reward in the Hereafter, won't he say, "I am not sad at all, that I was blind in this world"? If there were no Hereafter, it would indeed be a great injustice. But we have Hereafter. Your troubles will also be balanced by justice. So don't worry, one day you will look back and smile at what you have suffered. It's always been like this, right? Remember the biggest calamity of your life. It comes and goes. Maybe you don't smile at it, but you feel that the pain has eased right now. After one week, the pain eased up a little bit. Then three weeks pass, and the pain reduces even more.

A whole year later you would say, "Was I really this much upset about it?" And when ten years go by, you don't even remember it. In Surah al-Ma'idah, verse number 32, Allah says, "Whoever takes a life, unless as a punishment for murder or mischief in the land, it will be as if they killed all of humanity." In this verse, when it mentions taking a life, why do you think only of others? Do you know what the worst part of su*cide is? You have no chance to repent. Let's say you have committed adultery or some other sin. You may regret it and repent, and then Allah may forgive you. But when you commit su*cide, you have no opportunity, no time to repent.

With that great sin, you go directly to the Hereafter. What was the reason that you committed su*cide? So that it will all end, right? But everything doesn't end when you die. Actually, nothing ends. Instead, the worse begins. What if Allah doesn't forgive you? Doesn't Hell scare you? Now, if I tell you, I will slap you ten times here, you will want to get out, right? Then, what if I tell you that if you get out, 100 people will slap you even harder? That's what Hell is like. Just take a look at the verses about Hell. You may think, "Let it be over, and I will be free after su*cide." But no, it's not like that. Right after it's over, the actual pain will come. There's a beautiful saying.

If the world is temporary, how can your troubles be permanent? Isn't that right? Look, there are many verses that bring comfort to us. In Surah al-Inshirah, verse number 5-6, Allah says, "So, surely with hardship comes ease. Surely with that hardship comes more ease." Surah az-Zumar, verse number 53. "All my servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls, do not lose hope in Allah's mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins." Surah az-Zumar, verse number 36. "Is Allah not sufficient for His servant?" Surah al-Baqara, verse number 216. "Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you and like something which is bad for you.

Allah knows and you do not know." With all these good tidings given to us through verses, how can a person have no hope? There's a saying. Those who see the beauty in life think beautifully, and those who think beautifully enjoy their lives. There are people who have suffered at least 50 times more than what you have suffered, but they can still live happily. How? Because of their mindset. Because they have a good perspective on their lives. Look at the lives of the prophets. What were they like? Did Ayyub (as) live in the world without any troubles and any difficulties? Think of the troubles that Younus (as), Isa (as) had to go through. Prophet Muhammad (saw).

They all experienced so many hardships. But did they ever question God or commit su*cide? So, this is one of the reasons why people commit su*cide. You focus on negative things. You don't appreciate your life. You think this problem cannot be handled and you want to commit su*cide. Brothers and sisters, believe me, it's because of our mindset. You get news, a sentence enters your ear, that bad news spoils all your psychology. What we need to do here is where to put that sentence and how to manage the process. Do you know that this life that you are not pleased with is a dream of millions of people? They would do anything to live your life. There are a lot of people in the world that suffer.

Actually, some of them cannot even imagine a life like yours, because their imagination is not that developed. They have never seen this kind of life. I understand that your pain is deep, but you need to change your mindset and convince yourself to get out of this maze. When was the last time you were grateful that you have feet and you can walk? Some people are being tested with disabilities, some live without hands, others without legs, some without sight. Yes, they do. They face challenges 50 times greater than ours, but they choose to live and find happiness. In the Hereafter, they will be rewarded more than all of us. In this world, there are all kinds of suffering.

Allah has given you so many blessings. I understand that you can't see these blessings that you have because of the mood that you are in. Now close your eyes, and imagine what might be going through the mind of someone considering su*cide. You have decided to end your life. Now, it's all over. You don't want to live anymore because it hurts. Your mind keeps bothering you. You feel miserable. You say You say, "I'm not pleased with my life, so why would I live?" And you go up to the highest floor and you let yourself fall. Now, you hit the ground. You have experienced the greatest pain of your life. There are two possibilities for you, and there is no guarantee that you will die.

Imagine that you are paralyzed or permanently disabled. Now, for the rest of your life, you may lose the ability to enjoy simple blessings, like running freely as you wish. By the way, a research indicates that a significant number of individuals who survive su*cide attempts, they express immediate regret during or after the act. Studies show that up to 90% of survivors from su*cide, they do not go on to die by su*cide in the future. They regret doing that. Or the other possibility. Let's say that you are dead. What's going on right now? Around you, there are the sounds of ambulances. People coming, running, screaming. They're shouting. But where are you?

Suddenly your mom comes to the balcony and looks for you and she can't see you. Your mother looks down, sees a dead body and runs down the stairs. Crying, "Not my child. Please don't let it be my child. Don't let him be dead." You cause her the greatest pain she could ever feel in her life. She comes down, looks and sees it's her child. It's a pain like no other. Piercing her heart. The news reaches your father. He becomes so sad. And you make your siblings go through the same thing. Can you really bear the thought of leaving everyone around you heartbroken? For months, years, they will live with your pain.

A few weeks after you die, your mother walks into your room, looks at your photo, your pillow, your bed. All the memories that you have. A woman who spent her life for you. You can't do this to her. So what can one do to break free from this mindset? First, keep yourself busy with something meaningful. Maybe trying photography or explore new places in the world. As long as it stays within halal limits, it can be anything. The best way to keep your mind busy is to connect with your Lord. Listening to Him and the Qur'an. Keeping yourself occupied helps you avoid loneliness and takes your mind off bad thoughts. It's a simple way to find peace and bring positive energy into your life.

Shaitan, the Devil, will try to weaken your patience. He will do this by constantly taking you to the past and to the future. You have to be busy with something to keep your mind in the present moment. Even the most seemingly impossible problems can be resolved. Allah created the universe out of nothing. Isn't it unreasonable to think He can't solve this problem? He is the Creator of the universe. Keep this in mind. There's a way out of this. Even if you can't find it right now. Even if the roads are foggy now, the fog will clear. It's interesting that many su*cides happen because of the overwhelming intensity of a single moment.

In these times, the devil takes advantage of your current weakness, amplifying despair, and making problems seem unsolvable. But emotions are like waves. They rise and they fall. Simply pausing, resting for a day, this can help. By the next morning, the pain may ease, even slightly, offering a clearer perspective and renewed strength to move forward. Don't forget. This is a world filled with pains and sorrows. This is not the world where you get rewards for your good deeds. This is the world that shattered the heart of Prophet Muhammad (saw). He lost his wife, Khadija tul Kubra. The world where the tears of Prophet Muhammad (saw) fell to the ground, when he saw his uncle Hamza at Uhud.

Hamza's lungs were torn apart, and his ears, his nose, they were cut off. This is Dunya, where the Prophet of Allah suffered the most. How can you not be troubled? How can you not suffer? Who are you to be safe from calamities? In these conditions, we will live here and be patient. What does Allah say in Surah ad-Duhaa, verse number three? "Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful of you." What a beautiful verse. Your Lord has not become hateful of you. He didn't leave you, brothers and sisters. Didn't Allah promise Muslims a Paradise? When that day comes, everything will be fine. All troubles and problems will be over.

As long as we live for His sake, everything will be fine. Alhamdulillah. One day we will die. Actually, this is a very comforting sentence. But if it happens by my own choice, su*cide, the Hereafter will be very difficult. But if my Lord takes my life and I live according to His wishes, He already wants to forgive us. He doesn't want to send us to the hell. Now imagine you entered the Paradise. All your troubles have vanished, never to return. Even if the entire world were against you, it could no longer affect you. You see the Prophets. Younus (as), Muhammad (saw), Isa (as). You meet the Companions. You are reunited with your loved ones, your friends, your relatives.

Most importantly, you meet your Lord, Allah. The one who created you, blessed you and guided you. In this life, we may have 30 or 40 years left filled with challenges, but they will pass. Every hardship will end one day. With patience comes salvation, and with faith there is always hope. Life is a fleeting journey, a temporary test of patience and faith. The pain you feel now is not permanent. It's a bridge leading you closer to Allah. Every tear you shed, every moment of struggle is seen by Allah. You're not forgotten and you are never alone. Beyond the storms of this Dunya, there is an eternal peace. A home where all sorrows vanish and your heart finds its rest. Hold on a little longer.

Paradise is worth every hardship.
