What is this place? This place is the unfinished construction of the Towards Eternity Da’wah Center. We're almost at the end of finishing the building, but the progress has nearly stopped. It's stuck. And there's some news that I would like to share with you. There's a deep desire and aspiration in all of us. We want our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw), to be known by the whole world. There are 8 billion people in the world and 2 billion of them are Muslim. The other 6 billion either don't know or deny our Prophet (saw). They don't have the Qur’an in their lives. The voice of our desire inside of us says that something should come out that can make distant places near.
And through it, everyone should know the messenger of Allah, because when we look around the world, we see a group of people in India worshiping idols. When we look another way, we see that the Christians, they believe that Jesus is a God. On the other hand, Jews have a completely different belief. Atheists say that the world came into existence by itself. Everything is a coincidence. In a world filled with so many wrong ideas and beliefs, we wish for something to emerge, a game changer. We want everyone to know the truth, to know the Prophet Muhammad (saw) and to understand Islam. Think about how big the world is with 8 billion people in it. There are so many people in the world.
In every country, there are people we need to reach down to the narrow streets. People in need of the Qur’an are waiting for us. So how can the word of Allah reach so many? There's a passion inside of us for a lightning bolt. A lightning bolt that can bring the farthest places near. I'm sure you want this too. Brothers, sisters, we found a formula. We tried it so many times and Alhamdulillah, it works. As you know, Towards Eternity is on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok in many languages. On our English YouTube channel alone, we have 1.8 million subscribers, and we have millions of views. In fact, the total views across all our YouTube channels have passed 1 billion, Alhamdulillah.
Many people's lives have changed. And it's not just about numbers. We received thousands of messages. Maybe you're one of them. When you look at the comments on the videos, you see messages like, “I started wearing hijab.” “I got goosebumps while watching your video.” “I started performing Salah.” And one of those people said, “I sent your video to my atheist friend. He watched it and then took shahadah.” We are hearing such beautiful news and this shows that this formula really works. So what is this formula, I'm talking about? There's a truth stated in the Qur’an, in the Hadiths, and in the books of our scholars.
We as a group of volunteer young people, I’m one of them, take these truths, present and explain it to the young generation in a way that they can understand and like. And we are helping people to start a new, beautiful life. There really is a formula that works right before our eyes. We have a 13 year old Turkish YouTube channel, which has 3.6 million subscribers right now. About eight years ago, after achieving good success on our Turkish channel, we thought that the world is not 70 million. There are 8 billion people. What happens if we apply this formula that we apply in Turkish to the different languages of the world? Would it work the same way?
So then about eight years ago, we launched our English YouTube channel Towards Eternity. But it didn't work. It didn't go as we expected. We struggled. We kept trying for a year, two years, three years. We wondered if the problem was in the translation or the dubbing or the editing. We asked, What should we do? Then as a team, we focused our efforts on English YouTube channel and Alhamdulillah thanks to people like you who donated to our charity organization. The quality of the translation, dubbing, editing and content have improved so much and Allah (swt) opened the way for us. So far, our English Channel has reached 1.8 million subscribers and it's growing incredibly fast.
We have millions of views. Many lives have been changed and people from different parts of the world watch our content from U.S., UK, Indonesia, Pakistan, etc.. If you read the comments on any video on our channels right now, you'll see what is happening. Our content has led many people to take shahadah, Alhamdulillah. Of course, we're not sheikhs or scholars, but we know how to address the young generation because we are coming from the streets. We love our scholars very much. We read their books, understand them, and explain their teachings. We are a kind of bridge between the truth and the young generation. The formula is actually this, Youtube, TikTok and Instagram all have algorithms.
What we do is to get our content into algorithm on these platforms and reach millions of people. There are a lot of techniques that we experience throughout 13 years. Truth become viral by doing this. Otherwise, the truth is the same truth, but without a viral effect, it would only be known to you and the people around you. Alhamdulillah, we found the method. And then we said this worked in the English language. But it's not enough. Only some educated people know English, but there are far more people in the world who don't speak it. Also, knowing English in a basic level is not enough to understand the meanings of the Qur’an. I just asked Chat-GPT a question.
What is the percentage of the people who can understand an Islamic lecture which is in B1 English level? Chat-GPT answered that 90% of the people won't understand you. What should we do? So we said we should limit ourselves to just English. What happens if we apply this formula in other languages? So about two years ago we started a channel in the Indonesian language. Because there are more than 200 million Muslims, brothers and sisters living there. Muslims also need this, right? For example, in Turkey, which is a muslim majority country, go and ask a high school student about practice Salah. You will see that maybe only one in 40 of them perform Salah.
Muslims need to hear these truth as well. So we said that let's launch an Arabic channel too, because we can only change the world if we as Muslims become strong and united. Then we thought, Why don't we open Urdu, Hindi channel as well? More than 1.4 billion people are living in India. We said Bismillah. Will it work? We struggled for a long time, but Alhamdulillah our Arabic channel also entered the YouTube algorithm and now reached 530,000 subscribers. It has millions of views. in Indonesian we reached 200,000 subscribers and it's going very well right now. Our videos in Urdu language are being watched right now in India, Pakistan.
We have over 200,000 subscribers and millions of views, Alhamdullah. We said we finally found the formula. We were looking for something that could make the distant places near. We were looking for a bolt of lightning and it works . These are all with the help of Allah, of course. Four months ago, we said, since it's working, let's increase the numbers of these channels. Now we have a goal to expand into 15 languages of the world. Because we received the following statistic that if we produce content in 15 languages, 90% of the world can understand us. Yes, this is exactly what we were looking for, a formula that can make us reach even the farthest places.
And again, about four months ago we said, let's go into the Russian language, start a Russian channel, a Spanish channel, a French channel. Can we do all that? Will it work? Should we open a channel in this language or that language? And we did. Of course, there's a lot of serious work involved in all these languages. Approximately 15 people are working in each language. Most of them are living abroad. For example, we find Muslim brothers and sisters living in India or Pakistan and get translation and dubbing services from them. The Spanish language is going okay at the moment, but it's not yet at the point where we want it to be.
Of course, it's normal because it's only been four months since we started it. The French have also entered into the algorithm, and we have videos that were viewed by hundreds of thousands of people on the channel, Alhamdulillah. But our Russian channel in a way said to us, “Where have you been so far?” In this new channel, which is four months old, we got over 12 million views on the Russian channel. Please check it out. For example, Portuguese is one of the most popular languages of the world. But when a young person goes to Google in Portuguese and types a few words about Islam, he can’t find the right Islamic content. We are struggling with this lack of Islamic content. How sad it is that there are 2 billion Muslims in the world, but there are no people who can teach Islam in a qualified and proficient way on social media in Portuguese. And also in so many languages, we have the same problem. You might be thinking, Why did you tell us all this? Our Da'wah Center's construction, where we will do these Da'wah projects, cannot be completed. I've been thinking about why it hasn't finished so far.
We are currently stuck in terms of finance. The construction didn't stop until now, but we don't know how it will continue from here. We had made an announcement lately and there were people who supported us, but our brothers and sisters are probably thinking like this, “Okay, It's nearly finished. Only 10% is left. It will be taken care of quickly. They don't need support.” Maybe they are thinking like this. I don't know. But if you really think like this, this building will not finish. And also there's something wrong with this way of thinking. We should think like this. It's not about whether this charity needs support or not. I am the one who is in need of giving it.
My support, my donation will change the lives of millions of people. And remember, Prophet Muhammad (saw) says, whoever guides a good deed gets the same reward as the doer of that deeds. So every reward and good deed that we get from our work here will also be written to everyone who will be a means of them, even if it's just one brick. When we look at this way, we shouldn’t think, “Do they need my support?” but rather “I need this.” “I need it for my afterlife.” Also, the support that will be given here comes as Sadaqah Jariyah an ongoing charity, meaning you will be rewarded for your support even after you die. It's certain that you and I will not be in this world 100 years later.
But you will get the reward for every young person who comes and plays in here. Aren’t we the ones who complain when we go to Masjid saying, “Why aren't there young people?” If you go to Masjid for Dhur prayer, you will see very few people and most of them are old. So where are the youth? They're here. For our Saturday lectures here in Istanbul, hundreds of young people come to our madrasah. They drink tea, coffee, listen to the lectures, they become friends. We pray together. We are increasing our knowledge. Towards Eternity is in place where about 90% of the people who come here are youths. We are not trying a new formula. It may be risky to try something new.
This is the place where we will be using the formula that is working and Inshallah expanding into 15 languages of the world, Towards Eternity Da’wah Center. As you know, Istanbul is an earthquake zone. Right now, the building we are currently in is not resistant to earthquakes. Unfortunately, the situation there is not good. We want to move here as soon as possible. This place is safe in every aspect. And in this small studio, in our current building, we can’t do our video recordings in the way we want to. We can't fit in there. This place is the Masjid, lecture hall and also a social space. It needs to be completed too. Prayers will be done here. Lectures will be given here.
Other than these, the walls need to be painted, kitchen cabinets, dining tables, chairs, glassworks office furnitures, we have these kind of needs. I believe that Allah will allow us to opportunity to finish this in time. We've come this far because of being a part of changing the lives of millions of young people, making them start praying we will earn good and rewards, Inshallah. Let's see. I believe that Allah (swt) will allow us to see the day when we open the place.
Here hundreds of young people will pray, drink coffee, and on the other hand, read Qur’an, get the education, complete their recitations of the Qur’an, and make do all for Khatmul Qur’an and in those prayers, when we open our hands, they will say, “Ya Allah, be pleased with everyone who contributed to this place, from its bricks to windows. Open them gates of paradise and protect them from the punishment of hell.” When we say ameen to that prayer, may we all be included in that people. May Allah (swt) protect you all.
