Isn't The Qur'an Enough For Us? Why Do We Need Hadith?

we will ask all the questions worrying muslims about the quran one by one we see evidence in the quran that it is impossible to deny the hadith our prophet peace be upon him himself forbade writing hadiths so what do you have to say about that drinking camel urine is mentioned in the hadiths do you accept that if the quran is crystal clear why do we need hadith there's a question coming from our editor if the hadees were written 200 years after our prophet how can we be sure of their validity if they don't accept the accuracy of the hadith they shouldn't accept any historical source today we will talk about colonism or quran islam and the accuracy of the hadith are you ready i'm ready i've

already spoken with a number of friends who share this sentiment basically we can see that these people have good intentions in other words we see that their main purpose is to defend the quran and to explain it to other people but when we look at it from a wider perspective we see such evidence from quran that it is impossible to deny the hadiths remember you only have 60 seconds for each question we want clear and firm answers we've gathered all the questions in the minds of muslims about the quran we'll ask one at a time let's talk about the quran let's see what the quran says together isn't the quran enough for us there are people who say there is no need for hadiths what do you have to

say to them let's talk about this matter again through the quran let's take a look at the quran and check whether this issue is mentioned or not when we look at the quran we do see a phrase that says there is no need for hadiths there is no such phrase in the quran the opposite there are many orders for us to obey the hadiths and to follow our prophet peace be upon him in fact in more than 30 verses he guides us to our prophet and even commands us to do so now if i study the quran i can see that it leads me to sunnah the quran itself directs me to the hadiths then if we consider the fact that the quran is universal that is the fact that it is valid for present day what does it take for me to

obey the order of following the prophet peace be upon him since the prophet peace be upon him is not alive the sunnahs and valid hadiths must relate to the present day so that my obedience to the order of following the prophet peace be upon him is fulfilled so when i look at the quran i can already understand that the valid hadiths and sunnahs should relate to this day i also would like to say this when we consider the most important issues of religion such as prayers and zakat we can't find a detailed explanation in the quran for example even the most basic information such as how many rakahs are in the prayer or how many zakah will be given are not mentioned in the quran in other words we

learn this from the sunnah and hadiths then when we examine the quran we can see that it guides us to the sunnahs and we clearly understand that we need to get information from it you said that the quran orders us to follow the hadees can you give us an example of that we can give tens of examples of this as i said it directs and commands us to this in more than 30 verses for example in the 65th verse of surah nisa the 80th verse of surah and sarah the 21st verse of surah al-azab we see that it constantly directs us to the prophet peace be upon him elsewhere the verse commands attila rasool he commands us now when we look here we can see what he commanded in the verses if we look at the

present day how can i obey the messenger when i can already provide obedience to allah with the quran this means that the sunnah and sound hadiths must be considered again i would like to give one more example and then close the issue for example when we look at the 31st verse of the chapter of surah al-imran the following is stated therein allah o messenger tell people if you indeed love allah follow me and allah will love you and will forgive you your sins allah is all forgiving all compassionate now when i look at this what is it that we want the most god's love for us and an increase in our love for god so how is this formula given in the quran if you love allah follow the messenger and

allah will love you too then since the prophet peace and blessings be upon him isn't alive how should we be included in this verse obviously sunna's invalid hadith should be considered when we look at this we can see that we can win the love of allah by following the sunnahs in other words how would someone who says that valid hadiths and sunnahs have not survived to the present day answer questions about the universality of the quran and the direction of this verse to us isn't obeying allah in the messenger the same as obeying the quran but what we do see when we look at the verse anyone who knows arabic here will know that the conjunction and requires a separate reference to both sides

obey allah rasul and obey the messenger there are two orders in other words if it is the same context how can we explain the rhetoric of the quran this time obey allah and obey allah does that make sense it doesn't make sense it repeats for no reason when we look at the conjunction and we understand that there are separate obediences one is obedience to allah and the other is obedience to the prophet peace be upon him adhering to allah will be through the quran while adhering to the messenger of allah will be through his sunnas but does one have to turn to hadith isharif's in all matters is the quran not enough for us in this regard as we have already stated we need sunnah even in basic

matters such as prayer and zakat in fact the quran directs us to follow the messenger of allah for example there is a very clear expression in the 65th verse of surah the verse continues it says here but no by your lord they cannot become true believers until they seek your arbitration in all matters on which they disagree among themselves and then find not the least vexation in their hearts over what you have decided and accept in it willing submission now when we are faced with a serious threat such as you will not have faith from such a serious matter shouldn't we go for a circumcision new issues may arise from today so when i look at the extent of this verse again shouldn't i go to the

prophet peace be upon him and appoint him an arbitrator then accept his decision it means when i look at the quran again in the light of many evidences i can see that i need to follow the sunnah the quran is very clear there is also a verse about that you know if the quran is clear and we believe in this verse then what is the need for hadith the clearness of the quran is different from the idea is that everyone can understand it for example let's give an example of blood we do a blood test right now when you look at the results of the blood test we don't understand the results but when we go to the doctor the doctor understands it and explains it to us so actually the results here are clear

but for whom it is clear for the doctor but not for us it means the doctor has to explain it to us as in this example the quran is clear but it is clear together with the prophet peace be upon him and his sunnah in this verse we can see that it is misunderstood because people only read the translation they don't read it's the see for example let's ask a question if the quran is as clear as it is understood what about the haroof al-muqattan letters for example alif lam ra if it is clear now how are we supposed to understand this ya seen now ya seen let's look at the letter how do we understand this it means that if the quran is clear as it is easily understood in translation then why can't we

understand the qatar letters when we look at surah al-imran what is commanded us in the seventh verse a part of the quran is mauka another part is with it is said to be based on simile and analogy now then if a part of the quran is mutasa in the continuation of the verse allah says only those endowed with intellects and real perception will take heed if allah said so then the matter of the quran being clear has been misunderstood i would also like to end by giving one more example you've exceeded the time limit twice your 60 seconds are up i already gave the answer i want to say something additional here otherwise the answer is already complete let's give an example like this if the door is

open do i tell you to open the door of course not now just like that example i saw that in the quran our prophet was tasked with explaining the quran allah says we have sent down the quran to you so that you can explain to people what was sent for them the word bayana is used in this verse it means to explain to declare so i see that the meaning of the quran is clear sentence isn't understood correctly as it is understood in the translation because if the quran is clear in this sense then the prophet peace be upon him wouldn't have been given the task of explaining in other words as in the first example if the door is already open nobody says open the door if the prophet peace be upon him

was given the task of explaining that means that the quran can be understood together with our prophet peace be upon him a question came from our editor if we heard hadees through the grapevine and if the hades were written 200 years after our prophet peace be upon him how do we know if they are true first of all the information here is not true because we know that the hadith were written and memorized at the time of the prophet peace be upon him moreover they narrated the hadees to us by practicing and experiencing them in their own lives we have evidence that many sahaba wrote the hadiths in particular what did ahmad bin ass may allah be pleased with him do he wrote hadee's name sahih

fasadika we also have information about this it has survived to the present day by living writing and memorizing but especially the matter of living the hadith is very important when we look at an act of worship such as salah what did tens of thousands of sahaba do by putting it into their own lives and practicing it they brought it to the present day this means that we have a lot of evidence for the reliability of the hadiths to sum up they brought the hadith to us through writing and memory also by putting it into their lives and by living i also want to add this for example if a person doesn't accept the reliability of hadith that person shouldn't accept any historical source why because

the matter of reliability in the hadith is at the highest level for historical sources for example for hadith to be sahih it must fulfill 12 conditions 12 conditions among them many items such as being reliable and being truthful are counted especially when we look at imam bukhari may allah be pleased with him he adds the 13th condition he adds one more condition the person who narrated the hadith must have lived with the person he narrated for a long time he says in other words when we look at the rules such as the reliability of the hadiths the necessity of 12 conditions and the fact that the bukhari source adds an extra rule we can understand how reliable the hadith sources are today the

hadiths are treated as if they were heard through the grapevine even though a person can spend months next to the person from whom it is narrated or even though we have counted dozens of conditions such as being truthful or having a strong memory the hadith reached the present day with dozens of conditions and dozens of rules when we look at a hadith it contains all kinds of information including who said it and to whom let me explain it in this way when a person has strong memory in his youth hadith were accepted from him but when he gets old even if they think that he is ivali they stop getting hadith from him because he has lost his memory how could it be said for a matter that has

reached today so meticulously if we heard it through the grapevine our prophet peace be upon him himself forbade writing hadith so what would you say to that now this information has reached us through hadiths is it true then it is necessary to ask why someone who doesn't accept the hadith except this information but when we look at the hadiths again we already have the answer the prophet peace be upon him forbade writing hadiths at the beginning of his 23 year prophetic period but why because the quran had just been revealed since people have just gotten used to the turn of phrase of the quran he forbade writing hadith with it for that period because people still hadn't become accustomed to

the language of the quran yet people might not have been able to distinguish between the hadith and the quran at first he forbade it but in the following period he allowed writing because the language of the quran was understood so this is a matter related to the first period also here is another point the prophet peace be upon him forbade writing down hadiths on the same surface as the quran when a person made a note about the hadith under the surface on which the quran is written the prophet forbade writing the hadees on the same surface with the quran out of the concern that people may confuse the quran and the hadith in the future to sum up the prophet peace be upon him prohibited for

the first period and then allowed it he forbade writing on the surface on which the quran is written and allowed other matters we have lots of evidence about that okay i understand but among the sahih hadees there are hadees that i don't agree with how can i accept them for example the earth rests upon an ox and a fish hadith do you think the earth is on an ox and a fish astronomy has made this very clear now there are mukhem and matashabe verses in the quran like we mentioned before in other words there are verses based on simile and analogy just like those there are hadiths based on simile and analogy before denying the hadith it is necessary to examine whether it makes any sense i'll give

you an example what if i say the state rests upon the pen and the sword would you object to this what would you say to this can the state be upon the pen and the sword you wouldn't say what an illogical matter would you because there's a hidden meaning here why i'll give you a meaning by analogy that the continuation of the state is related to knowledge and power just like this example the prophet peace be upon him tells us that the world is based on an ox and a fish in fact he tells us that the livelihood of the world is provided by water and land with the analogy of the fish and the ox he informs us that the land system and agriculture-related subsistence continues related to this we can

see that there are miracles he gave to us related to astronomy which actually have elusive meanings but only this meaning is enough for now can our prophet peace be upon him determine what is haram and halal by himself for example gold is haram but there is no such phrase in the verse as we've already told you from the beginning because the quran directs the prophet peace be upon him many places we naturally understand the prophet's authority to make things haram or halal the quran gives basic information on the authority to make things haram or halal what does the prophet peace be upon him do in the details of course he has the authority to make something halal or haram let's give an

example of two verses related to this the first verse is the seventh verse of surah allah says whatever the prophet has given you take and what he has forbidden you refrain from there is another verse in surah araf there too the prophet tells us in this verse that he will make good and pure things halal and he will made bad and ugly things haram so basically when we look at the quran we can clearly see that the prophet peace be upon him could make something haram or in some narrations it is said that the prophet peace be upon him drank water while standing in other narrations it is said that he drank water while sitting which one will we believe here it is concluded that the method of

understanding hadith is not known because there may be problems such as misunderstanding the hadith for example the unknown matter here is the difference between sunnah and permission in fact there is a teaching method in practice here he suggested sitting down while drinking water this is the sunnah but so that people don't think that it will be obligatory and so that when the opposite is done drinking water while standing they don't think that it is haram what did the prophet peace be upon him actually do to make it easier on us there were times when he drank while standing drinking water while sitting is a suggestion it is a sunnah the prophet peace be upon him said that but as a teacher

he drank water standing up just for the teaching his ummah that it isn't haram to drink water while standing so basically the matter here is one isuna and the other is permission for convenience drinking camel urine is mentioned in the hadith do you accept this of course i do as i said here it is necessary to know the method of understanding the hadith here they make it look as if the prophet was advising everyone to drink camel urine however this matter is a special medical intervention for a group coming from outside just like medicine used when there is a medical matter in the hospital there are various kinds of medicines likewise the prophet peace be upon him recommended urine and milk

from a camel to a group that came from outside to cure their diseases so the matter here is about a medical intervention and a step related to healing the disease but what do people do when a person doesn't know the event that a hadith is related to it is thought as if it is always suggested in fact as we said if it was known that the incident was a medical intervention everything would be solved if someone is searching with mercy unconscious if he really wants to find the truth when that person looks at these verses of the quran and learn how to understand the hadiths that person will realize how unnecessary it is to deny them how necessary and important the reliability of the hadiths and

sunnahs is and that we should follow the sahih hadiths let's think about it this way even if there is a hadith that we don't understand why should we deny it wouldn't it make more sense to say it has a meaning i may not understand now of course there may be a sign of this a way of analogy instead of denying the hadith isn't it more logical to say i can't understand it now i can understand it in the future isn't that more fair you
