were confused is because you didn't look into the interpretation is the presence of a dual meaning or your lack of understanding or thinking that some rule is invalid right now evidence that islam or the quran is wrong when you're in high school you think that something makes sense and when you get to university you understand that it's not logical and your thoughts change accordingly or what do people say when they turn 40 they feel like things in the past weren't logical so if human understanding of logic can change over time then the verses that don't make sense to you at that time may start to make sense in the future because you'd understand the wisdom and the logic behind it like you

hadiths for example if you commit a serious crime it's always free a slave when you have a religion that commands you to free slaves when you sin aren't you abolishing slavery the only time slavery is acceptable is with acts of war so we can explain concubinage like this if groups of people have fallen into slavery during a war they are integrated into families concubines are not public property and it's also not a situation where they're getting married or living the married way of life you can think of it like the work system for example say you have a textile company you have people working there it's a work system you don't have to think of concubines as a marriage or like living a

married life it could be like a work system or like a marriage what's the wisdom in this like i said people are integrated into family life and they're introduced to islam and they're put into family units would it be better if women were to become public property so what does islam say these women are to enter family life and live out their lives that way so the outcome is that everyone is protected not torturing them being good to them and guiding them on the path to faith is a great part of the system you have to explain islam to the slaves and concubines in a good way but here's where the confusion happens why do they get married a concubine becomes someone's family she becomes a partner

or another one becomes a partner to another family so what's happening there the idea that she is public property is destroyed everyone gets a family and they live out their lives in that family if it weren't for those verses which of you would defend slavery or concubinage if it weren't for those verses no one would defend that lifestyle and we'd probably be against the idea of four spouses and we'd say it was wrong look our idea of morality and religion have already started to clash at this point there's nothing more natural than human query buddy there's nothing wrong with your questioning islam demands it question think research don't they examine the quran and think allah says don't

neighbor married four women you would shame him i wouldn't you wouldn't if you understand the wisdom and teachings of the quran about having four wives you wouldn't chain them why because having four wives is a very misunderstood subject why because people think that they are obligated to marry four women but that's not what is said in surah nisa it is said marry women of your choice two or three or four but this is not a religious duty this is a limit in the rest of the verse it says if you fear that you may not be able to deal justly with them then only one and later on it says try as you might you can never bring justice amongst women so automatically you come to the conclusion that the

quran fundamentally accepts marriage to one woman but what can happen is by wisdom because the quran is a universal book there is a limit of four and if the need arises the quran is a practical book that preaches a livable lifestyle in any circumstance in any time period for example there have been world wars can it happen again yes it is the majority of people who die in wars are men so what happens when men die the number of men decreases and the proportion of women increases so what happens then the four wives rule then becomes totally applicable the quran fundamentally accepts having one wife but in its universality it allows up to four wives depending on the conditions and circumstances
