And what's really interesting is that the laws of nature and the cause-and-effect relationships of this world will not apply there. That means whatever you want will happen instantly. To eat a fruit, you won't need to plant a seed and wait or go somewhere to get it, because in paradise, there are no means, no steps to go through. Allah will create whatever you want directly. When you pick a fruit from a tree, another one will appear right away. Nothing will be missing from the tree. Any meat you desire will be brought to you at once, perfectly roasted. How many kinds of food have you eaten since the day you were born? In this life, we only get to taste a tiny part of all the flavors in the world, and even that small part is enough to amaze us. It's like living our whole life with just one glass of water from the entire ocean and still feeling happy. For example, a tomato has its own taste, an egg has its own taste, a pepper has its own taste, but when you mix them, you get a completely different flavor. Until now, maybe we haven't even tasted 1% of the world's cuisines. And compared to the flavors of paradise, it doesn't even come close to one in a million. Let's talk about another blessing.
In paradise, there will be no hatred, anger, or jealousy in our hearts. All negative and hurtful feelings will be taken away from us. Everyone will live happily, like brothers and sisters. Allah describes this in the Quran as follows: “We will remove whatever bitterness they had in their hearts. They will be like brothers sitting on couches facing one another.” Also, Rasulullah (the Messenger of Allah) said, "Their hearts will be like one man's heart, with no disagreement or mutual hatred among them." As friends and brothers, the people of paradise will talk about their memories from this world.
They will watch the moments they once lived and witness them again, as if they were stepping right into a movie. They will be able to see the scenes of the most interesting events in history and even visit them. Now, other beauties of paradise. There will be rivers of pure water, rivers of milk, rivers of honey, and many other rivers beyond our imagination. In the Quran, Allah says, "The description of the paradise promised to those mindful of God is that under it, the rivers flow. Its food is everlasting, and so is its shade." “In it, there are rivers of water, forever pure, rivers of milk that never change in taste, rivers of wine delicious to drink, and rivers of purified honey.
There, they will also have all kinds of fruit and forgiveness from their Lord.” But the wine mentioned here is very different from the wine of this world. It will have qualities unique to paradise. They will be pure drinks that bring delight and comfort. They will not make anyone drunk. In addition to all these natural beauties, the climate in paradise will also be perfect. Unlike this world, it will be neither hot nor cold, but the perfect climate that we love most. And in paradise, it will never be night. There will be an everlasting light that fills the hearts with joy. “And We will enter them into cool, refreshing shade.” In paradise, there is no night. It is only light and nur (light).
Also, there will be no sleep in Jannah. In this world, sleep feels good because it removes tiredness, but in paradise, there will be no tiredness at all. “No fatigue will ever touch them there.” In this world, even when we do the most enjoyable things, after some time, we get bored, right? So, will it be the same in paradise? Not at all. Allah, Who created boredom itself, can certainly make sure that you will never feel bored there. So Jannah will be an eternal home filled with joy and all kinds of pleasures and free of any need. And its people will remain there forever. From the Quran and the Hadith (sayings of the Prophet), we learn that paradise has eight gates.
People will enter through these gates according to their deeds. They are Bab as-Salah (the Gate of Prayer), Bab al-Jihad (the Gate of Struggle), Bab as-Sadaqa (the Gate of Charity), Bab ar-Rayyan (the Gate for those who fasted), Bab al-Hajj (the Gate of Pilgrimage), Bab al-Kazimeen al-Ghaiz wal afeenaan an-naas (the Gate of Forgiveness), Bab al-Iman (the Gate of Faith), and Bab adh-Dhikr (the Gate of Remembrance). And the believers will be in one of the seven levels of paradise according to their rank and their standing with Allah. They are Al-Firdaws, Adn, Na'im, Dar al-Khuld, Al-Ma'wa, Dar as-Salam, and Illiyyun.
So if the ranks and the levels of paradise are different, how can someone in the highest level be together with someone in the lowest level? Bediuzzaman Said Nursi explained this beautifully through a hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and that is, "You will be with those whom you love." For example, let's say my sense of taste is very strong, and yours is weaker. We sit at the same table with a beautiful view. Also, my eyesight is sharp. I can see far into the distance, but you cannot see as far. If we sit side by side, chatting and sharing a meal, who would enjoy it more? I would, of course, because my eyesight is sharper and my sense of taste is stronger.
In the same way, even if we sit at the same table in Jannah and eat the same food with a friend, the pleasure each of us gets will still be different. But no one will complain about this. Everyone will be completely happy with what they have. No one will be upset about not being in a higher rank because, as we said, every negative or hurtful feeling will be taken away from their hearts. So, what kind of clothes will people wear in paradise? The Quran tells us that the garments of paradise will be made of silk and decorated beautifully.
“They will wear garments of fine green silk and istabraq (a kind of thick silk).” “They will be adorned with golden bracelets and pearls, and their clothing will be silk.” So, what will our beauty be like in paradise? We will look the same as we did in this world. In paradise, Allah will grant each person perfect beauty and the appearance that pleases them the most. And this beauty will not be limited to just one form. Allah will allow His servants to choose any appearance they want whenever they want. So the people of paradise will enjoy different forms of beauty as they desire.
Rasulullah (the Messenger of Allah) said, "Indeed, in paradise, there's a market in which there's no buying nor selling, except for images of men and women. So whenever a person desires an image, they will enter it." Have you heard about the last person who will enter paradise? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "I know the last person who will come out of the hellfire and the last to enter paradise. He will come out of the hell, he will come out of the fire crawling, and Allah will say to him, 'Go and enter paradise.' He will go to it, but it will appear to him as if it were full.
Then he will return and say, 'Oh my Lord, I found it full.' Allah will say again, 'Go and enter paradise, for you will have blessings as much as the whole world and even 10 times more.' The man says with surprise, 'You are the Lord of the worlds. Are you making fun of me? Or are you laughing at me?'" The Sahaba (companion) who narrated this, Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, said, "While saying that, I saw the Messenger of Allah (be upon him) smiling until his back teeth became visible." It is said that he will be the lowest in degree amongst the people of paradise. And now, the big question. Will we be able to see Allah in paradise?
Yes, insha'Allah (God willing), our greatest joy will be seeing Allah and knowing that He is pleased with us. The Quran describes this blessing in this way: "On that day, there will be bright faces looking at their Lord." This will be the greatest reward in paradise. There's another description from Bediuzzaman Said Nursi. In his tafsir (Quranic exegesis), he says, "A thousand years of joyful life on earth is not equal to even one hour in paradise. And a thousand years in paradise is not equal to even one hour of seeing Allah." Don't compare this with the life you know now. Instead, imagine a life filled with nothing but joy from beginning to end without a single hardship.
A thousand years of such a life, yet it's still not equal to what? Just one hour in paradise. And imagine a thousand years in paradise overflowing with blessings beyond imagination is still not equal to a single hour of seeing Allah. The believers who see the beauty of their Lord will be mesmerized, and they will express their gratitude with blessed words like, "SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah), Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)." Another striking thing is that the people of paradise will see the people of hell. And those in hell will see the people of paradise.
The regret of one side will multiply many times over, while the gratitude of the other will increase even more. So, as the people of paradise enjoy such endless happiness, what will be the state of the people of hellfire? Jahannam (Hell)... Hell is boiling like a rage that has been locked up for thousands of years. Many oppressors who wronged the innocent... killed hundreds of babies, and violated the rights of countless people are now imprisoned there. Inside, it is pitch-black darkness. It's a scene filled with pain and regret, echoing with the wails and cries of people. "We have prepared a blazing fire for those who reject the Hour.
When it sees them from a distance, they will hear it raging and roaring. And when they are thrown into a narrow part of it chained together, they will cry out for death. They will be told, 'Do not cry out today for one death, but cry for many deaths.'" As terrifying as it is, hell is necessary for justice to be fulfilled. And justice is a mercy for the oppressed. In the ayah (verse), Allah says, "We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers." For those who believe, hell will only be temporary. If they committed major sins but did not repent, and if their sins outweigh their good deeds and they received no intercession, they will remain in hellfire for some time.
Of course, if Allah forgives, they won't be punished in hell. But even if a believer enters hell, once their punishment is over, they will eventually come out and enter paradise. The angels of punishment in Jahannam (Hell) are very firm and harsh in carrying out their duties. Their terrifying appearance alone is enough to be a torment for the people of hellfire. In the Quran, the conversation between the disbelievers and the angel in charge of hell is described like this. They will cry, "Oh Malik, let your Lord put an end to this." He will say, "No, you're here to stay.
We certainly brought the truth to you, but most of you were hateful of the truth." But the torment there isn't just the fire. A person will also suffer from being deprived of the blessings of paradise, from loneliness, from silence, from burning together with Shaytan (Satan), from the pain of burning fire and the pain of burning cold, from the pain of being ungrateful to Allah, and from not being able to speak to Him. In other words, the person is left there with many forms of punishment. On that day, Allah will say to the people of hell, "Do not speak to Me." What a painful scene, isn't it? Their connection with their Lord is completely cut off.
The people in the fire have their hands bound in chains, and flames cover their entire bodies. Their eyes are filled with indescribable fear. Every breath they take is filled with the scorching breath of hell. They try to escape and save themselves, but they cannot because there is no way out. Boiling water poured over their heads melts their skin and burns their insides. Here's how the Quran describes it: "And what can make you know what Saqar is? It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing unburnt, blackening the skins." Their food is Zaqqum, the fruit of a tree in hellfire, and thorny plants. And their drink is boiling water and pus.
Every time they drink, they feel the punishment deep in their bones. “Before him is hell, and he shall be made to drink pus-filled fluid. He will gulp it but will hardly be able to swallow it. And death will come to him from every side, but he will not die. And more intense suffering will lie ahead of him.” In another ayah (verse), Allah says, "There will be no food for them except a poisonous, thorny plant that will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger." Every time they cry out, "I can't take it anymore," the punishment will grow even stronger. Their only hope will be to die and disappear, cease to exist. But that will never happen.
Weren't they the ones who dropped bombs on innocent people in this world, tormenting them without the slightest care for their tears? Didn't they laugh while watching a mother crying in despair? "Ah, if only I had come to my senses. If only I had another chance." But even though his cries echo through the darkness, it will change nothing. The test of this world is over, and now they face the outcome of their deeds. Also, on that day, the groups burning in hellfire will be arguing with each other. They will put the blame on one another and curse each other.
Here's how it's described in the Quran: "Allah will say, 'Enter the fire along with the nations who passed before you from the jinn and the human beings.' Every time a nation enters it, they will curse the nation preceding them. Then, when they're all gathered inside, the last of them will say about the first of them, 'Our Lord, they misguided us, so give them a double punishment of the fire.' Allah will say, 'Every one of you will have double punishment, but you do not know.' And the first of them will say to the last, 'You have no privilege against us.
Now taste the punishment for what you have been earning.'" Also, some of the people of hell will blame Shaytan (Satan), and the devil will respond like this: "God gave you a true promise. I too made promises, but they were false ones. I had no power over you except to call you, and you responded to my call. So do not blame me; blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I reject the way you associated me with God before." In the end, the oppressor will get what he deserves, and the oppressed will finally receive what they deserve. None of us knows when death will come to us, but everything we have talked about in this whole series will surely happen.
The Angel of Death is watching you. The grave is waiting for you. Your judgment will not be easy. On one side is paradise, and on the other is hell. A thousand years of such a life, yet it's still not equal to what? Just one hour in paradise. And imagine a thousand years in paradise overflowing with blessings beyond imagination is still not equal to a single hour of seeing Allah. The believers who see the beauty of their Lord will be mesmerized, and they will express their gratitude with blessed words like, "SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah), Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)." Another striking thing is that the people of paradise will see the people of hell. And those in hell will see the people of paradise.
The regret of one side will multiply many times over, while the gratitude of the other will increase even more. So, as the people of paradise enjoy such endless happiness, what will be the state of the people of hellfire? Jahannam (Hell)... Hell is boiling like a rage that has been locked up for thousands of years. Many oppressors who wronged the innocent... killed hundreds of babies, and violated the rights of countless people are now imprisoned there. Inside, it is pitch-black darkness. It's a scene filled with pain and regret, echoing with the wails and cries of people. "We have prepared a blazing fire for those who reject the Hour.
When it sees them from a distance, they will hear it raging and roaring. And when they are thrown into a narrow part of it chained together, they will cry out for death. They will be told, 'Do not cry out today for one death, but cry for many deaths.'" As terrifying as it is, hell is necessary for justice to be fulfilled. And justice is a mercy for the oppressed. In the ayah (verse), Allah says, "We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers." For those who believe, hell will only be temporary. If they committed major sins but did not repent, and if their sins outweigh their good deeds and they received no intercession, they will remain in hellfire for some time.
Of course, if Allah forgives, they won't be punished in hell. But even if a believer enters hell, once their punishment is over, they will eventually come out and enter paradise. The angels of punishment in Jahannam (Hell) are very firm and harsh in carrying out their duties. Their terrifying appearance alone is enough to be a torment for the people of hellfire. In the Quran, the conversation between the disbelievers and the angel in charge of hell is described like this. They will cry, "Oh Malik, let your Lord put an end to this." He will say, "No, you're here to stay.
We certainly brought the truth to you, but most of you were hateful of the truth." But the torment there isn't just the fire. A person will also suffer from being deprived of the blessings of paradise, from loneliness, from silence, from burning together with Shaytan (Satan), from the pain of burning fire and the pain of burning cold, from the pain of being ungrateful to Allah, and from not being able to speak to Him. In other words, the person is left there with many forms of punishment. On that day, Allah will say to the people of hell, "Do not speak to Me." What a painful scene, isn't it? Their connection with their Lord is completely cut off.
The people in the fire have their hands bound in chains, and flames cover their entire bodies. Their eyes are filled with indescribable fear. Every breath they take is filled with the scorching breath of hell. They try to escape and save themselves, but they cannot because there is no way out. Boiling water poured over their heads melts their skin and burns their insides. Here's how the Quran describes it: "And what can make you know what Saqar is? It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing unburnt, blackening the skins." Their food is Zaqqum, the fruit of a tree in hellfire, and thorny plants. And their drink is boiling water and pus.
Every time they drink, they feel the punishment deep in their bones. “Before him is hell, and he shall be made to drink pus-filled fluid. He will gulp it but will hardly be able to swallow it. And death will come to him from every side, but he will not die. And more intense suffering will lie ahead of him.” In another ayah (verse), Allah says, "There will be no food for them except a poisonous, thorny plant that will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger." Every time they cry out, "I can't take it anymore," the punishment will grow even stronger. Their only hope will be to die and disappear, cease to exist. But that will never happen.
Weren't they the ones who dropped bombs on innocent people in this world, tormenting them without the slightest care for their tears? Didn't they laugh while watching a mother crying in despair? "Ah, if only I had come to my senses. If only I had another chance." But even though his cries echo through the darkness, it will change nothing. The test of this world is over, and now they face the outcome of their deeds. Also, on that day, the groups burning in hellfire will be arguing with each other. They will put the blame on one another and curse each other.
Here's how it's described in the Quran: "Allah will say, 'Enter the fire along with the nations who passed before you from the jinn and the human beings.' Every time a nation enters it, they will curse the nation preceding them. Then, when they're all gathered inside, the last of them will say about the first of them, 'Our Lord, they misguided us, so give them a double punishment of the fire.' Allah will say, 'Every one of you will have double punishment, but you do not know.' And the first of them will say to the last, 'You have no privilege against us.
Now taste the punishment for what you have been earning.'" Also, some of the people of hell will blame Shaytan (Satan), and the devil will respond like this: "God gave you a true promise. I too made promises, but they were false ones. I had no power over you except to call you, and you responded to my call. So do not blame me; blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I reject the way you associated me with God before." In the end, the oppressor will get what he deserves, and the oppressed will finally receive what they deserve. None of us knows when death will come to us, but everything we have talked about in this whole series will surely happen.
The Angel of Death is watching you. The grave is waiting for you. Your judgment will not be easy. On one side is paradise, and on the other is hell. And if you're still watching this video, it means your test is not over yet. It means you still have a chance to set things right. Which pleasure in this world could ever be greater than the blessings of paradise? Is it worth losing eternal blessings for the temporary pleasures of this life? Which is harder? The small effort of the prayers we feel lazy to perform or the torment of hell? How hard can it be to make tawbah (repentance) and pray the five daily prayers, which together do not even take one hour?
When everyone is overwhelmed with fear and panic in the terrifying events after death, isn't it worth it to smile with joy and enter eternal paradise? We were not sent into this world without purpose. Death is real. The grave is real. And the judgment will surely come. We cannot deny these truths. With so many realities in front of us, how can we live as though none of them exist? Death knocks on the door of 250,000 people every day. Does this still mean nothing to you? Wake up before death wakes you, because death itself does not die. Do not delay your tawbah (repentance).
Today, while there's still time, while your heart is still beating, while you can still fall into sajdah (prostration), while the door of repentance is still open.
