RESURRECTION DAY - The Sirat Bridge | AI-Visualized Day of Judgment Series - Ep. 3

Now we face the terrifying scene of the Day of Judgment. After the waiting that followed the end of the world, a loud voice rises. Allah has brought Israfil (peace be upon him) back to life and commanded him to blow the Sur (trumpet) once again. The Sirat (bridge). When the judgment is over, a bridge is built over hell that extends to paradise. And on both sides of it, there are hooks hanging, each one given the job of catching the people they are ordered to. No! Please, help me! No! All voices will turn low in awe for the All-Merciful. So you will not hear anything except the whisper of footsteps.
On that day, We will seal their mouths, but their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will bear witness to everything they have done. The world has now ended. One by one, all the angels, including the angel of death, have died. But now, this is when everything truly begins. "And then the trumpet will be blown, and We will gather them all together." And now, the resurrection begins on the plain of Mahshar (gathering). Every person who has died since the very first human being is being brought back to life, one by one. The world is no longer as we knew it. It has turned into a completely different place. A flat, endless plain with no horizon, wider than anything you have ever seen.
There will be a long wait there. Everyone will be given their book of deeds and called to account. Following that, all their deeds will be weighed on the scale, the Mizan (scale). Then, the Sirat bridge will be set up, and finally, the journey that ends in either Hellfire or Paradise will begin. One after another, we're going to see each of these stages. There may be those who wonder, how will the bodies be put back together? How can there be resurrection after they have decayed and fallen apart beneath the ground? In this ayah (verse), our Lord gives a beautiful answer to this question.
He says, "Who will give life to the bones when they are decayed?" Say, "The One who created them in the first place will give them life again." He has full knowledge of every creation. Indeed, doesn't the Creator, the One we know through His works in the universe, who has infinite power and might and keeps everything in perfect order, show us examples of resurrection every spring? Don't you see how the seeds hidden beneath the soil are given life, rise, and bloom into flowers of many colors? Aren't you a witness to it? Think of a commander who has gathered a vast and mighty army. Then he orders all of them to go and rest.
Do you think this commander could not gather his scattered soldiers together again at the sound of a single trumpet? In the same way, Allah creates a human being by bringing together countless factors. He provides the mother with food from all over the world, and through that, He creates the baby in her womb. So, is it possible that after death, when our parts are scattered in the soil, He would not be able to bring us back together again? As the ayah (verse) says, "Were We incapable of creating them the first time?" People are rising from their graves in horror and fear. It's as if they have been woken up from a deep sleep. Barefoot and naked, they are all rushing towards somewhere.
But because of the terror and shock they are in, they cannot even turn to look at one another. No one has any idea what to do. Like locusts, they scatter and start running in every direction. In fact, they had already been told about this moment before. With their eyes humbled, they will come out of the graves like locusts spread all over, rushing quickly towards the caller. The disbelievers will say... "This is a difficult day." The believers who stay away from disobeying Allah walk with pride and joyful faces, or ride their animals. But those who turn away from the Quran are dragged on their faces to the plain of judgment. Some faces shine with light, while others are drenched in sweat.
People start looking around for their loved ones, but in vain. Everyone is lost in their own troubles. They run away from each other. Because the only thing on their mind is to be saved from their own sins. The criminal will wish that he could save himself from the punishment of that day by sacrificing his sons, his spouse, his brother, and his close family who sheltered him, and whoever is on earth, all together, so then it could save him. Please let me go! Take my spouse if you want! Take my friends if you want! Whoever a person was friends with in this world, and whoever he listened to, he will look for those people on the Day of Judgment.
If these friendships were on the path of evil, as soon as he finds them, he will grab them by the collar. I followed you when I was on earth! I did whatever you said! Now tell me what I should do! But they will run away without looking back. They don't even want to see the ones who followed them. And their followers will be full of regret. Those who followed will say... "If only we had another turn at worldly life so that we may disown them as they have disowned us." Slowly, certain names start to come to your mind too. There are people you need to confront on that day, though you have no desire to meet them. But there's no escape. All of humanity will be standing together in one great line.
And now, it's time to wait. People are wondering how long this wait will last, for the situation is unbearable. On that day, the sun will be brought closer to people than ever before. While they weren't able to stand under the sun at 40 degrees Celsius in this world, people will have to wait under the scorching sun for a very long time on that day. According to the weight of their sins, everyone will be drenched in sweat like never before. But will there be no shade at all? Our Prophet (peace be upon him) had already given the good news of those who will be in the shade.
He said, "On the day when there will be no shade except His, Allah will give shade to seven types of people: a just ruler, a youth who grew up with the worship of Allah, a person whose heart is attached to the mosques, two people who love each other only for the sake of Allah and they meet and part in Allah's cause only, a man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for illicit intercourse with her and says, 'I am afraid of Allah, ' a man who gives charitable gifts so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given, and a person who remembers Allah in privacy and his eyes are then flooded with tears." Another good news from a hadith (prophetic tradition) is as follows: "Whoever gives time to a person in debt who is in distress, or forgives all or part of the debt, Allah will shelter him in the shade of His throne on the day of resurrection, when there will be no shade except its shade." The waiting will continue for a very long time.
Yet, the judgment will not begin. It will even reach a point where people will desperately look for someone to save them from this situation. First, they will go to the father of mankind, Prophet Adam (peace be upon him). Then to Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon them all). Even though they are among the greatest prophets, each will say, "Nafsi, nafsi (myself, myself)." A day so severe that even the prophets will be busy with nothing but saving themselves. SubhanAllah (Glory to Allah). None of them will see themselves worthy of asking this from Allah.
Each one will point to the other one until finally, we'll be directed to our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). And at last, through the dua (supplication) he will make to Allah, the judgment will begin. But from that point on, what follows will be even harsher than everything before. Before the great judgment, everyone stands in a single line. Then from the left side, a terrifying roar is heard, causing everyone to tremble in fear. Jahannam (Hell).
Hellfire appears in all its rage and might, burns with impatience, because in front of it are people who committed countless acts of oppression and terrible sins, who rejected Allah and His prophets, who mocked the believers, and who killed hundreds of innocent people. Frozen in terror, they can only stare helplessly. And on the right side, Jannah (paradise) begins to appear, with all its beauty and magnificence. Those who believed in Allah and listened to His prophets in this world are waiting with joy. On the way to your own judgment, you come across a shocking scene. While in the world, a sheep had once hit a pregnant sheep with its head and caused it to lose its baby.
On that day, these two sheep are brought face to face so that retaliation, Qisas (retaliation), will be taken, and the same done to the other. At that moment, you'll truly realize that even the smallest things you thought were insignificant will be brought to account. "Whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it. And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it." Now, everyone is given their own book of deeds. The people of Paradise receive it from the right, while the people of Hellfire receive it from the left or from behind.
Those whose book is given from the right are called Ashab al-Yamin (the people of the right hand), and those whose book is given from the left or from behind are called Ashab al-Shimal (the people of the left hand). And the book of deeds will be placed before them, and you will see the wicked in fear of what is written in it. And they will say... "Woe to us! What a record this is! It does not leave any deed, small or large, unaccounted for." They will find everything they ever did laid in front of them. Your Lord will not be unjust to anyone. I wish I had never followed that Shaytan (Satan). Please, I am sorry. Give me one more chance. I wish I had not followed my nafs (self/ego).
I wish I were dust. As for the people of Paradise, when they receive their book of deeds, the Quran describes them in this way. "Anyone who is given his book in his right hand will say... 'Here is my book, read it. I knew I would meet my reckoning.'" And so he will be in a pleasant life. On such a dreadful day, isn't it really worth staying away from haram (forbidden acts) just to taste such comfort and joy? Despite all the terror, what is asked from a person on that day is actually very simple: having lived this short life, which is almost nothing compared to the eternal afterlife, away from harams (forbidden acts). After all, whoever spends his life in haram can never truly taste real joy.
Allah will say to unbelievers, "How many years did you stay on the earth?" They will say, "We stayed a day or part of a day. So ask those who kept count." He will say, "You only stayed for a little while, if only you had known." Those are the ones who have bought the life of this world in exchange for the hereafter. So the punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be helped. And now, the ones who refuse to believe, the disbelievers, they'll be thrown into Hellfire, their eternal home, never to leave again. According to the level of their denial and the wrongs they committed, their punishment will be even more severe.
But perhaps the worst of all is that they will never be able to see their Lord who created them. Now only one step remains: the Sirat bridge, built over Jahannam (Hell) and leading to Jannah (paradise). Pious believers, the sinners, the disbelievers, everyone will come to this bridge. There's no other way to reach Jannah (paradise). The first ones to cross the Sirat will be Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his Ummah (community). Everyone will cross this bridge according to their deeds. Some will pass like lightning, some like the wind. Others cannot even walk and try to crawl across. On both sides of the Sirat, there are hooks hanging. These are commanded to catch certain people. No!
Please, help me! No! Some escape these hooks scratched and wounded, while others are seized and thrown into the Hellfire. Jahannam (Hell) is never satisfied. When it is asked, "Are you full?" it cries out, "Hal min mazeed (Are there some more)?" With all its horror, Jahannam is right beneath our feet, blazing before our eyes. We try not to look and just keep walking across the bridge. Then we look at the people around us. Some of them regret their sins, while others are falling into the Hellfire. And then there are those who are mindful of their hereafter in this world. They cross the bridge very quickly, without feeling any pain.
The reason Jahannam is shown to righteous people is not to scare them. Rather, to make their joy even greater. They are shown what a horrible place they were saved from. They pass in an instant. Their longing is finally over, and they reach their eternal home, Jannah. While all this is happening, there's someone praying with sorrow and compassion. All his life, he had looked at his Ummah (community) with mercy and prayed for them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). "Save, O my Lord, save," he keeps praying for the believers. That day, our hardship will be our judgment, but his hardship will be seeing his Ummah in that state.
Seeing those who were given their books in their left hands, their condition on the Sirat, and their fall into Jahannam, one by one. His comfort, on the other hand, will be seeing those who managed to reach the gates of Jannah. At last, Jahannam has taken those who deserved it. And now it is time for Jannah to welcome its people. "And those who used to fear their Lord will be led towards Jannah in groups. When they arrive, they will find its gates wide open, and its keepers will say to them, 'Peace be upon you. You have become pure.
So enter it to live here forever.'" Insha'Allah (if Allah wills), if we succeed, the place we will reach at the end of this entire journey is so beautiful that, in the words of our Lord, Jannah is what no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and no human being has ever imagined. And now, we are entering the land of eternal happiness, where we will live forever and enjoy every kind of pleasure. And above all, we will have the greatest blessing of all: seeing Allah.
